Big Loud Texas, founded by Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall in partnership with Big Loud Records, is a Texas-rooted imprint and publishing powerhouse dedicated to discovering and championing Texas musicians and songwriters. Tonight’s show features performances by Big Loud Texas artists, showcasing the talent and sound of Texas music on The Listening Room stage.

Alex Lambert:

Soul-country singer-songwriter Alex Lambert is a Fort Worth-bred artist whose music is defined by country storytelling and timeless soul. Recently signed to Big Loud Texas, the buzzed-about imprint co-founded by Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall, Alex brings a rich, distinct sound shaped by classic country, R&B and pop influences. Raised on everything from Willie Nelson to Michael Jackson, and later inspired by soul greats like Sam Cooke, Bill Withers and D’Angelo, Lambert developed his voice and musicianship early, learning guitar at age eight from his grandfather, a singer, songwriter and producer himself. Drawing influence from artists like John Legend, Amos Lee, Kacey Musgraves and Leon Bridges, Lambert’s debut releases with Big Loud Texas, “Shoot Me Down,” “Rules of Attraction” and “You Make Sense To Me,” serve as a statement of artistic intent. He takes his new music on the road this summer, joining Billy Currington & Kip Moore on select dates through September.

Coleman Jennings:

With a hypnotic vibrato made to cut through the haze of modern life, and an old-school dedication to Western twang, Coleman Jennings can seem like a conduit to a different time – or even, a different spiritual plane. But as the country provocateur and Big Loud Texas / Mercury Records singer-songwriter says, his music is no echo of the past. More like a fierce statement of originality, crafted to stand out… and shake you to your core. Never afraid to call out the dull conventionality of commercial pop, the Texas native is a student of music with inspirations like Townes Van Zandt, The Eagles, Blaze Foley, John Hartford and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Diving deep into guitar while in high school, the gritty, unvarnished realism of roots poet Blaze Foley sparked an obsession with the art of country music and stoked an anti-establishment fire that still burns. Working with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson), Jennings raises his distinctive voice for all to hear on his debut album, Lead You Home. For Big Loud Texas traditionalist Jake Worthington, country music is in his DNA. The La Porte, Texas native was raised on his grandfather's porch performances of Ray Price, Merle Haggard and George Jones, and soon picked up his own Gibson acoustic to realize the breadth of his soon-to-be-classic, wide and wild voice. Now, Worthington breathes fresh life into dance halls, beer joints and ballrooms from Texas to Tennessee with his growing catalog – his sophomore album When I Write The Song is out now with Miranda Lambert collaboration “Hello Shitty Day,” “I’m The One (feat. Marty Stuart),” viral “It Ain’t The Whiskey” and more. Captivating the masses with his honky-tonk stylings, the singer-songwriter is currently on his headlining Intent To Tonk Tour: Repeat Offender, as well as opening dates with Gavin Adcock, HARDY, and Brad Paisley. “I believe in country music as much as I believe in my next breath,” Worthington declares, and “blame it on my raising, but I think there ought to be room for country in country music.

Austin, Texas natIve Jamison Eddleman is the newest addition to the Big Loud Texas Publishing roster. A lyric-and-melody craftsman shaped by influences like Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, and Ryan Adams, he pairs sharp, conversational lyrics with melodies that linger, dedicated to serving the song. Cutting his teeth at storied Texas rooms like Cheatham Street Warehouse, Jamison built his foundation on the state’s rich songwriting traditions. His songs have been recorded by Grace Tyler, Slade Coulter, Haydon Wiginton, Brennan Clements, Logan Jahnke and more.

Julianna Rankin:

Big Loud Texas singer-songwriter Julianna Rankin is an undeniable rising talent hailing from The Lone Star State. Raised on classic country and the blues with influences ranging from Keith Whitley, Bobbie Gentry and Waylon Jennings to Bonnie Raitt, Carole King and James Taylor, Rankin was emboldened to pursue a career in music after her family and peers alike discovered her talent while attending college at Texas A&M. After being discovered and signed by Big Loud Texas, her label debut “Bad Habits and Good Horses” was featured in the season finale of Landman via Paramount+. The “highly promising” (MusicRow) talent signed to Big Loud Texas Publishing and Sony Music Publishing earlier this year.

Waylon Payne:

A poetic outlaw, Waylon Payne made an indelible mark with his timeless debut album The Drifter (2003). Building on the legacy of that album and the widespread acclaim of Blue Eyes, The Harlot, The Queer, The Pusher & Me (2020), Waylon’s label debut album Wayward is out now. “Looking For A Feeling” and “Holding On To Lonely” signaled his triumphant re-emergence, showcasing his signature razor-sharp lyrical prowess. Waylon’s musical pedigree is storied. The son of GRAMMY® Award-winning country singer Sammi Smith and Jody Payne of Willie Nelson’s band, he dons the name of his godfather Waylon Jennings. He began his prolific career writing for and playing with other musicians. Multi-talented with the charm of a seasoned entertainer, Waylon has pursued acting in earnest; he appeared in the award-winning Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line (2005). After, he was cast in the starring role of Hank Garland in the biopic Crazy (2006).
