In the south of Georgia, Justin Schools grew up like a lot of small-town country boys do. He sang in church and even lead the worship at a fairly young age. He loves sports; was the receiver on his high school football team as well as the catcher for the baseball team. And since he grew up farming, he often bailed hay and worked the local Pecan Orchards to make some money. In 8th grade, he started teaching himself guitar by studying the style of the infamous drummer, and front man for Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl. So, after being injured in football, Schools put a band together. Influenced by country, rock and Christian music, they cut their teeth playing his great-grandfather’s bar, Walker’s Drive-In, and later touring churches and playing weekly for the Fellowship Christian Athletes club. In Schools’ writing, you will hear the heavy influences of 90’s country, from Alan Jackson and Brooks & Dunn to the storytelling of Chris Stapleton; as well as the rock influences of Green Day, Fray, Nickelback and 3 Doors Down. He most recently signed publishing with Red Door Music Group and Warner Chappell Music. When he is not writing, he can often be found hunting, finishing or riding around with his dog.
Born and raised in the bluegrass state of Kentucky, Connor grew up surrounded by Southern Gospel music and enjoyed singing on his church worship team. His senior year at Western Kentucky University, Connor earned that ticket in Nashville that sent him to Los Angeles to continue his journey on the singing competition, “The Voice”. This is when he decided to pursue a full time music career as a singer/songwriter.
Since moving to Nashville in 2021, Connor has immersed himself in the vibrant music scene, writing with some of the best songwriters in the industry. He had the exciting opportunity to perform at Gulf Coast Jam 2024 and shortly after signed with Marathon Management.
Blending a love of classic country and Southern soul, Connor's acoustic set is inspired by artists Chris Stapleton, Brett Eldridge, Jordan Davis and Morgan Wallen. Leaving his audience with laughter, smiles and hope is something Connor aspires to do.
